A high-level delegation headed by Dr Rashid Al Leem, Director-General, Hamariyah Free Zone Authority, Government of Sharjah, visited Technopark on Friday to explore scope of mutual engagement and cooperation.
Dr Rashid was accompanied by Mr Abdullah Ahmed Al Badri, Head of Public Relations, Mr Ali Saeed Al Jarwan, Head of Sales, and Mr Mohammed Basheer, Assistant Head of Sales.
Mr Mervin Alexander, Chief Executive Officer, Technopark, welcomed the delegates and Mr M. Vasudevan, Senior Manager (Business Development), made a presentation on the IT initiatives of the State Government.
Dr Rashid Al Leem commended the State Government for the kind of infrastructure put up at Technopark for information technology and information technology-enabled companies. He also expressed his interest in entering into mutual collaboration with Technopark through the formal route by signing a memorandum of understanding to which the Technopark team expressed its readiness.
According to Dr Rashid, Kerala enjoyed a special mention in the developmental sweepstakes of the West Asia region and enjoyed age-old relationship with that geography.
“The Hamariyah Free Zone can play a greater role in furthering the growth of both Kerala and Sharjah,” he added. According to Mr Mervin Alexander, Technopark was looking forward for a long-lasting relationship with Hamariyah Free Zone. “We will together discuss and work around ways to ensure a good partnership,” he added.
Also present on the occasion were Mr K. C. C. Nair, Chief Finance Officer, and Mr K. V. Rajendran, General Manager (Technical) of Technopark.
The visiting delegates were also taken to Gemini Software Solutions, an outfit of the Kanoo Group of Companies based in Bahrain, where they met with company officials .
