Software AG, Germany's second largest enterprise software maker, will hire about 120 more people to its 400 employee strong India team in calendar 2012.

The company is on an expansion spree and is targeting to increase new licence revenues in India by 70 per cent by adding up to 10 new ‘logos' or client engagements, Mr Mehul Rajparia, Managing Director at IDS Scheer India (a unit of Software AG), told Business Line .

However, he did not specify how much of revenues the India unit generates for the company.

“Our aim is to increase the India headcount by about 30 per cent… We would be hiring across functions such as research and development, global consulting and sales…,” said Mr Rajparia.

The company is augmenting its headcount across functions such as research and development, global consulting and sales. In India, it is targeting corporates in sectors such as financial services, infrastructure & supply chain and technology outsourcing for its services, added Mr Rajparia.

Founded in 1969, the Frankfurt Stock Exchange-listed Software AG is an enterprise software company that is better known for proving software in the business process management space.

With annual revenues of €1.12 billion, it has over 10,000 enterprise customers in over 70 countries.

It may be recalled that IDS Scheer India came into the Software AG fold following the latter's 2009 acquisition of German counterpart IDS Scheer for abut 500 million euros. The India unit currently has around 20 customers.
