Group of Technology Companies (GTech), the strategic grouping of information technology and information technology-enabled companies, is in the process of setting up a cultural club in partnership with Technopark.

To be called ‘Natana,' the club will serve as a platform to create an enabling environment for IT professionals in Technopark to nurture their artistic talents and creative aspirations, a Gtech spokesman said here.

TRADITIONAL ARTS

The objective of the club is to bring together professionals from the Technopark community who are keen on pursuing interests in culture, music, films, dance and other forms of traditional art.

The club also aims to facilitate partnerships with cultural organisations locally, nationally and internationally to facilitate cultural exchange programmes and also to organise regular cultural evenings, events, film festivals and musicals for the benefit of the Technopark community.

The first resource meeting of ‘Natana' brought together 200 artistic talents from various companies in Technopark.

Mr Shyamaprasad, film director and Creative Head of Amritha Television, and Ms Bena Paul Venugopal, Art Director, International Film Festivals Kerala, were the chief guests.

NOT AN END

“Art is seen as an end in itself. Other than fulfilling your dreams, it helps in personal and community development,” said Mr Shyamaprasad.

He urged the Technopark community to take ‘Natana' towards perfection so that it can be a sustainable professional club for aspiring creative talent.

Ms Bina Paul hoped that ‘Natana' would help bridge the gap between the modern and traditional cultures of the city of Thiruvananthapuram.

Mr V. K. Mathews, President, GTech, and Chief Executive Officer of IBS Group, shared the vision of ‘Natana' with the audience and said that it would strive to become the country's premier arts club.

Earlier, Mr Mervin Alexander, Chief Executive Officer, Technopark, welcomed the gathering. The meeting was organised as a forerunner to the launch of ‘Natana,' scheduled for next month.
