VMware targeting jewellers in Gujarat

Virtualisation and cloud company VMware is expanding its base in Gujarat and has setup an office in Ahmadabad to address demand for cloud solutions.

Explaining the rationale behind the move, Mr T Srinivasan, Managing Director, VMware India and SAARC said, “We are expanding into non-metro cities. Gujarat is one of the most prosperous states in the country and we want to establish our presence there.” The company already has offices in Bangalore, Pune, Chennai, Hyderabad, Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata.

Apart from government virtualisation projects in Gujarat, Mr Srinivasan said that VMware was targeting the jewellery belt in Surat and Baroda. "Several jewellers are using our products, including companies like Tribhovandas Bhimji Zaveri,” he said. TBZ, which recently expanded its Gujarat presence by opening an office in Rajkot, has plans of opening ten new show rooms across the country by December, of which five will be in Gujarat in places such as Baroda, Gandhinagar, Gandhidham, Jamnagar and Vapi.
