You can now view 35 new shows featuring stand-up comedy acts on YouTube for the next seven days starting today.
The Google-owned video sharing site has launched ‘Comedy Week’ wherein over 400 hours of local comedy content will be available for viewing on the India channel, according to a press statement.
“We’ve seen tremendous growth and momentum for YouTube here in India and today we are launching Comedy Week to help reach out to the first time Internet users in India and give them a reason to get on to the Internet for their daily dose of entertainment,” said Sandeep Menon, Director-Marketing for Google India.
YouTube estimates that in India, comedy shows contribute to over 30 per cent of total hours watched within the TV shows category.
Popular YouTube comedy creators including Jay Hind TV, TheViralFever and NH7 will also be available.
