Online marketplace giant Amazon.in has finally launched the furniture segment on its platform to compete with both its rivals and other vertical players such as Urban Ladder and Pepperfry.
The furniture store will offer close to 25,000 products across a range of bedroom, living room, dining room, kitchen, home office, and hallway furniture from a number of prominent brands like Durian, Evok, Royal Oak, Zuari, @Home, Hometown, Lazy Boy, etc.
“Ever since we launched Amazon.in, we have consistently received requests from customers across the country to make available quality furniture products that can be shopped with ease by everyone as well as delivered to the customers’ doorsteps seamlessly. We are very excited to launch India’s largest furniture store for our customers this Diwali. With this launch, Amazon.in brings its convenient, trusted and reliable shopping experience – that is much appreciated by Indian customers – to this popular category In addition, we are working with sellers to offer installation services, so that the products are ready for use immediately,” said Sumit Sahay, Director Category Management, Amazon India.
Customers on Amazon.in can now buy thousands of furniture products including a wide range of beds, wardrobes, coffee tables, dining tables, chairs, recliners, TV / display units, side tables, storage furniture products, bar furniture, sofas, other living room furniture, bean bags, among others.
To help customers make informed purchase decisions while buying furniture, the product detailed pages have been specially designed to provide relevant dimensions for products (Example: Length, Width, Height) as well as product images, capturing visuals from various angles, etc.
For furniture products that need installation, detailed information on “how to install” has been provided on the product detail page. For some products installation guides & videos too have been uploaded. In addition, specific instructions on furniture care have also been provided, the company said in a statement.
