The appetite of information technology and IT-enabled services for human resources in experienced category has come down.

“While induction of freshers is progressing well, companies are going a bit slow when it comes to hiring laterals (people with experience over three years),” Mr Prasad Kolisetty, Director of 3Edge Solutions, said.

“The job market is slowed down a bit. But they are still hiring,” he said.

3Edge Solutions is a Chennai-based IT and ITeS skill development institute with centres in Chennai, Hyderabad, Warangal, Kakinada and New Delhi. “We are going to open centres in Kolkata and Pune in the next few months,” he said.

The company, which works with about 20 clients, claimed that it achieved placements up to 95 per cent. It charges Rs 25,000 for training in testing and Rs 35,000 for upgrading skills in software development.

“We are going to increase depth in training by offering courses in specific domains. We are targeting laterals with these courses. We would also focus on the emerging technologies such as mobility and cloud computing,” he said.

Mr Prasad was here in connection with opening of 3Edge's second facility in Hyderabad at Madhapur. It has so far trained over 4,000 people.
