Apple is testing new iPhones with larger screens as big as six inches (15.24 centimetres) the Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday.
The company may be introducing larger screens on its mobile devices as it fights to regain the lead as a smartphone manufacturer from Samsung, which has wooed consumers with a much larger range of models than Apple currently offers, the report said.
The bigger screens are not expected to feature on the new iPhones that Apple will reportedly introduce at a launch event set for Tuesday.
According to research firm Gartner, Samsung’s share of worldwide smartphone sales rose to 32 per cent in the second quarter from 30 per cent a year earlier, while Apple’s share fell from 19 per cent to 14 per cent.
