Computer manufacturer Asus on Wednesday said the company is expecting growth similar to 2011 in total sales of its products this year. The company grew by around 50 per cent in 2011 with a market share of five per cent of the total notebooks market in India. The company however, did not share the number of notebooks sold in the country. “While the total market of notebooks is growing at four-five per cent, we are growing at 40-50 per cent, and expect to maintain that. The Indian notebooks market is expected to reach five million units this year from around 4.5 million last year,” Mr Alex Huang, Managing Director - Systems Business Group, Asus India Pvt Ltd, told reporters here.
Mr Alex said Asus would continue bringing in latest innovation and technology products for the Indian consumers. Depending on the launch of Windows 8 by Microsoft, he said the company would launch a new product based on Windows 8 that is expected by end of next quarter.
Meanwhile, Asus launched two new notebooks - Multimedia N56VM and Gaming notebook G75VW - priced at Rs 89,999 and Rs 1,39,999, respectively. N56VM is the latest addition to Asus' N Series of multimedia notebook, while G75VW is equipped with full HD Non-Glare 3D Panel.
