The country’s top law officer, the Attorney General, will appear before the Joint Parliamentary Committee on 2G scam as a witness on October 3.
This will be for the first time that the Attorney General will appear before the JPC to give oral evidence.
Attorney General G. E. Vahanvati was called before Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee in April 2011 when it was examining the CAG report on 2G spectrum allocation. But following acrimonious scenes between Congress and BJP members that day, he could not appear before the panel.
