BlackBerry-maker Research In Motion (RIM) on Wednesday said it has partnered digital marketing firm GETIT Infoservices to market its enterprise solutions to small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in India.
“SMEs, though small in size, are looking at smartphones for driving employee productivity and collaboration, enhancing customer service and ensuring data security, all this with little or no capex,” RIM India Director (Enterprise Sales) Sunil Lalvani told reporters here.
Joining hands with GETIT is a great opportunity to expand our presence in this segment, which is showing significant growth in terms of IT spends, he added.
The association will help RIM market BlackBerry enterprise solutions for SMEs through GETIT’s strong field force and provide companies enterprise-grade, cost-effective mobile solutions, he added.
“Initially, the target would be SMEs in Bangalore and Delhi, followed by other cities in India in 2013,” Lalvani said.
The companies will focus on sectors like manufacturing, food processing, pharmaceuticals, textile and garments and retail.
GETIT will market RIM’s Enterprise Mobility Solutions including BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) Express, which is available for free.
While GETIT will be responsible for lead generation, the solution will be distributed through Ingram Micro.
“Today most businesses use email extensively, especially through mobile devices. The partnership with RIM will help our customers tremendously with enhanced mobile productivity,” GETIT Infoservices CEO Sidharth Gupta said.
