TaxiForSure on Tuesday partnered with Paytm to allow customers to book cabs through the latter’s wallet feature. The cab booking service also unveiled its updated mobile app, allowing customers to book cabs with a single tap, reducing the time to book.
Arvind Singhal, TaxiForSure’s CEO, said, “The enhanced app provides the quickest and most convenient booking experience, making it the first taxi aggregator to do so. Over 80 per cent of cab bookings are done via our mobile app compared to 32 per cent six months ago.”
Cash-less paymentAfter the ride is complete, the fare is automatically deducted from the customers’ Paytm wallets if they have chosen cashless payment and a bill notification reaches them through SMS and email.
This partnership is in line with Paytm’s mission of allowing customers to make cash-less payments, said Amit Lakhotiya, Vice-President (Payments), Paytm. Existing Paytm wallet users can link their Paytm wallet to their TaxiForSure account while new users can go to the payment section on the TaxiForSure app and activate payment through Paytm. About 70 million people use Paytm app.
TaxiForSure also announced that it has removed its peak hour surcharge, making rides cheaper during the rush hour, with a base fare of ₹49 for the first 4 kms and thereafter ₹14 and ₹16 charged per km for hatchbacks and sedans respectively. The new TaxiForSure app will be available on Android, IOS, Windows and Firefox.
