Serco, a BPO company, has opened a new facility at Shimoga in Karnataka. This new facility will offer BPO services to a leading privately held telecom company. Further, Serco has hired 300 people for this facility and plans to hire another 150 by November, according to company officials.
Susir Kumar, Executive Chairman, Serco Global Services, said: “Serco has been steadily expanding its footprint in Indian BPO market and the launch of this facility strengthens our regional footprint in southern India.” Serco has 20 centres in India and employs 52,000 employees globally across 99 locations in 10 countries and has plans to reach $1 billion in revenues by this year-end.
