BSNL names new CMD

BSNL said on Friday that Anupam Shrivastava has taken charge as the company’s new Chairman and Managing Director. He has been appointed for five years or till the time of superannuation at age 60. Shrivastava, a 1981 batch ITS officer, had previous served as Director (Consumer Mobility) at BSNL. He has also worked as Senior General Manager in Jodhpur, Ajmer and Jaipur and General Manager in the Rajasthan Telecom Circle. “As BSNL CMD, it will be my top propriety area to work with government in connecting people at affordable cost, expeditiously and at turning around BSNL into a profitable venture. I will take up important pending project of National Optical Fibre Network, mobile service in Naxal-hit areas,” said Shrivastava after assuming charge.
