The company has about 1,700 staff at Technology Centre here. “We have added 75 from campuses this year. We will fill up the capacity of 2,500 in three years,” Mr Sanket Atal, Senior Vice-President and Centre Head of CA Technologies, told reporters here on Friday.

internships

“We also take students on internships and absorb some of them,” Mr Bipin Pendyala, Vice-President and Site Manager of India Technology Centre, said.

Addressing a press conference here on Friday, they said India was being looked at seriously by the company as a prospective growth centre.

The company, which was taking part in Indian projects by joining hands with system integrators, would increase its focus on verticals such as telecom, e-governance and power. It worked with KPMG, Capgemini, Wipro, TCS, HCL, 3i Infotech and Sify to take part in Indian projects.

Specific solutions

It was also focussing on specific solutions for Indian market such as Application Management and Service Assurance management. “Several government projects are large in scope. They require multi-vendor solution. We do not bid directly. We work with System Integrators who in turn participate in public-private mode,” a company spokesperson said.

CA Tech's Indian arm contributed one-third of the company's research and development activity.

School expansion

The company, which supported Hope Foundation to run a school for under privileged students in Hyderabad, bought land to move the school from a rented building. Almost all of the 220 students were being funded by its employees under ‘Champion a child' programme.
