IT management solutions firm CA Technologies has announced a strategic partnership and investment with IDG Ventures India Fund, a technology venture capital fund investing in India, to help drive innovation in the enterprise software market.
IDG Ventures India is a part of IDG Ventures, a global network of technology venture funds. IDG Ventures India helps build category leading companies from India for the Indian and global markets, and has more than $6 billion under management. The fund's lead investor and sponsor is the International Data Group, an IT media company.
``We believe in the growth and innovation of India’s development community,'' said Jacob Lamm, executive vice president, CA Technologies, in a statement. The partnership would help the company get ``early visibility into the many enterprise software startups in the region that represent compelling investment opportunities,'' he added.
The investment also complements the organic growth planned for CA Technologies (CA) in its research and development and engineering centres, along with expansion into enterprise markets including mobility, cloud and big data among others. The investment would provide CA with a platform to nurture new ideas and innovations outside the constraints of an existing business.
The investment also ensures that CA gains periodic proprietary updates on technology trends, market dynamics and the venture landscape, which would provide it better visibility into coming trends in the enterprise software market.
