Canon has announced its entry into the commercial photo printing segment with the launch of a new printer.
The printer, which is priced at Rs 3.2 crore, is aimed at companies that undertake large volumes of printing in areas line wedding photo albums.
Canon has signed up Bangalore-based photo shop G.K. Vale as its customer who aims to use this printer called the DreamLabo 5000.
The commercial photo printing market contributes 5 per cent of India business to Canon, which according to the company is estimated to be a Rs 3,072-crore market.
Alok Bharadwaj, Executive Vice President, Canon India said the company is looking to increase its revenue to attain Rs 100 crore in the next five years.
Currently, this business contributes around Rs 95 crore, according to Canon officials.
