Capgemini India has won a contract to design and implement a shared services centre (SSC) for JSW group. The financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.
The SSC would bring together critical functions across business units such as finance and accounts, procurement, supply chain management and human resources. The work will involve consolidation of common back office functions for group companies, standardisation of processes and functions across locations, and better governance and control.
“We expect Capgemini to support JSW Group in reducing costs and gaining flexibility by the implementation of a robust and scalable shared service delivery platform for JSW Steel, JSW Cement, JSW Energy and JSW Infrastructure business,” said Seshagiri Rao, Joint Managing Director and Group Chief Financial Officer at JSW Group.
In India, Capgemini employs more than 44,000 people across nine cities.
