A meeting regarding the revival of Nokia’s mobile manufacturing facility near Chennai will be held on January 28 in New Delhi, said Pankaj Mohindroo, Chairman of the Fast Track Task Force for revival of mobile handset manufacturing industry, constituted under the Union Ministry of Communication.
The meeting will be attended by officials of the Task Force, Tamil Nadu government, Department of Electronics and Telecommunication, and the Department of Commerce and Department of Revenue, he told BusinessLine .
Last August, Mohindroo along with Josh Foulger, co-Chairman of the task force and country head of Foxconn, met Tamil Nadu Industry Minister P Thangamani, Industry Secretary CV Sankar, and the IT Secretary TK Ramachandran, on options to revive Nokia’s production facility.
It was the first meeting after the plant’s closure.
