Chennai’s Ramanujan IT city bags 3 UK awards

Tata Realty’s flagship project in Chennai — Ramanujan IT City SEZ — has bagged three awards at the Financial Times UK Best Global Free Trade Zones (FTZ) of the Year 2018.

Financial Times , one of the world’s leading financial newspaper from the UK, has been presenting these awards on global level since 2014. This year there were 79 FTZs participated in the nomination. In India, Free Trade Zones are called SEZs.

Three awards

Ramanujan IT City Special Economic Zone bagged the maximum number of awards in the IT sector for the categories – Best IT Special Economic Zone; Highly Commended in Asia-Pacific; and Best Architectural Development.

“Ramanujan IT City also proud to have the unique distinction of being the first project from India to win three awards in this event. I would like to dedicate this award to our occupants who have made Ramanujan IT City SEZ into a true global landmark,” C Velan, CEO , TRIL Infopark, told BusinessLine .

Built at a cost of nearly ₹4,000 crore on the IT corridor, the Ramanujan IT City is 100 per cent leased out facility with 38 occupants employing close to 46,000 IT professionals.
