CleanseCar, a mobile-based service start-up that streamlines the $3 billion daily car wash segment, has received a ₹3.5 crore angel funding from investment platform Venture Catalyst. Several leading angel investors from Venture Catalysts network including Omphalos Venture India LLP, Rishabh Mahimtura, Anil Patel, Vishal Brambhatt and others participated in the round.
CleanseCar aims to organise the daily car wash industry to alleviate the woes of car owners in apartments and gated communities. The company charges ₹499 for hatchbacks, ₹599 for sedans and ₹749 for SUVs per month. It also offers other automotive care solutions such as interior vacuum cleaning, dashboard and console cleaning and shine, interior detailing and rim dressing.
Started in March this year by Kalyandhar Vinukoda and Pratibha Shalini, the company also offers a waterless wash thus making it eco-freindly and viable in urban cities and metros that face acute shortage of water.
Apoorv Ranjan Sharma, Co-founder and President, Venture Catalysts said daily car wash is one of the basic requirements of consumers in urban areas and this service is not always easy, affordable or reliable. CleanseCar is disrupting this high-potential segment by introducing standardisation and the use of technology.
According to Vinukoda, with an initial seed round, the company grew from 200 cars to over 2,000. With the fresh funding the growth will be much faster and touch over 20,000 cars daily, he added. The company is operational is Bengaluru and Chennai and aims to roll out its services in other cities of South India in the next one year.
