Cognizant Technology Solutions will invest Rs 1,000 crore over the next five years in Tamil Nadu.
The US-based company with large offshore presence in India entered in to a memorandum of understanding to this effect with the State Government. This was announced at the Tamil Nadu Global Investors Meet 2015.
The MoU was signed on behalf of Cognizant by its Chief Operating Officer T Sridhar, says a company press release.
Lakshmi Narayanan, Vice Chairman, said that in the next phase of growth in the State the company plans to expand delivery infrastructure in Chennai and Coimbatore with a capacity to accommodate 17,000 to 20,000 professionals.
