Design software company Dassault Systemes is planning to concentrate on mining and energy sectors in the eastern region.
According to Chandan Chowdhury, Managing Director, Dassault Systemes India Pvt Ltd, the Company has set up an office in Kolkata in June and a group of mining experts among its employees will be based here.
The France-based company provides 3-dimension design solutions to industries like manufacturing, urban planning, consumer goods, automotive and infrastructure.
“Our focus will be on mining projects in the East and hydro-power projects in the north-east. Such projects have an impact in the economy of the region,” Chowdhury said.
He was here to address a seminar on global IT-industry organised by Indian Institute of Foreign Trade in association with Electronics & Computer Software Export Promotion Council.
According to him, Dassault Systemes would also like to work in the areas like developing a model to gain citizens’ support for infrastructure projects (democratisation of innovation) and effective execution of social welfare projects.
