Norton by Symantec on Thursday tied up with Digilife Distribution and Marketing Services, a 100 per cent subsidiary of HCL Infosystems Ltd, for the distribution of Norton Mobile Security for Android devices across India.
The collaboration will enable Norton to benefit from Digilife’s mobile distribution in over 200 cities in India.
Consumers can now purchase Norton Mobile Security at over 60,000 mobile retail outlets, apart from leading e-tailers where the product is already available, the company said.
“As mobile platforms become a lucrative avenue for cybercriminals, Norton recognises the need for consumers to use these devices with the confidence that their information and systems are safe,” Ritesh Chopra, Country Sales Manager, India, Norton, said.
A recent Norton survey revealed that 73 per cent of connected Indians believe that security software would have helped in their mobile data recovery.
“Safe mobile usage is becoming a priority in a growing mobile market like India, and Norton Mobile Security complements our wide range of leading mobile products and offerings,” Sanjay David, Chief Executive Officer, Digilife, said.
