eBay has recruited about 100 graduates, mainly from tier-I engineering colleges in the country, a majority of whom will work with the development centres of its division PayPal India. The remaining will be absorbed by eBay Product Development Centre, and will work with its Chennai and Bangalore offices.
The fresh recruits are currently undergoing a five-week-long boot camp.
“At PayPal, we tap into the bright minds of our young talent right from the start as we believe that innovation and free thinking play a pivotal role in our global success. At the same time, we believe in grooming them for success. Unlike others in the industry, our first-time employees are exposed to tough situations and real adversity during the boot camp – only to emerge wiser, stronger and more confident,” Anupam Pahuja, General Manager of PayPal India Development Centres, said in a press release.
The new recruits are being trained to work on global projects, he added.
PayPal India has recruited more than 30 per cent of its new hires this year from the group of graduates who had previously interned with the company.
PayPal’s base in India comprises software development centres in Chennai and Bangalore with more than 2,000 engineers and knowledge professionals supporting both the eBay Marketplaces and PayPal businesses globally.
