EazyDiner, an online restaurant booking platform, bets on Indian business and leisure travellers when launching its operations overseas.

The two-year-old start-up will focus on South-East Asian markets where Indian consumers frequent in Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia and Hong Kong. To fund expansion plans, the start-up is looking at series B funding.

Launching Eazydiner operations in Chennai, senior journalist Vir Sanghvi, Co-founder of the start-up, said while expanding overseas, it makes sense for the company to focus on Indians travelling abroad as they will be aware of the app. Even in India, around 20 per cent of the company’s revenue comes from business travellers.

Currently, the company has a presence in eight cities and there are plans to add 15 more by the end of March 2018. Operations will be launched in Ahmedabad by April and Hyderabad by July 2017.

Cities like Jaipur, Agra, Kochi, Coimbatore, Chandigarh and North Eastern States are also on the cards. There are 2,000 restaurants in its network across different cuisine with price range between ₹500 and over ₹5,000.

Rohit Dasgupta, Co-founder and Chief Executive, said pre-booked set menu is another area the company is working on, where the customer can pay online for the set menu like buffet.

“We are working with online payment providers for the same,” he added.

The online reservation platform has booked close to 45,000 diners so far and expects to close the fiscal with the revenue of ₹10 crore. It expects to break-even by March 2018.
