HCL Infosystems Ltd and education company Educomp Solutions Ltd on Thursday announced their partnership under which the former will provide life cycle services (support services for implementation) for existing and new Educomp classrooms across the country.
According to the statement, HCL Infosystems will provide break-fix support and field repair services along with managing new installations of Educomp classrooms, through a nation-wide network of field engineers, regional repair centres and a centralised repair factory.
Harsh Chitale, CEO, HCL Infosystems Ltd, said in a statement, "Providing timely and quality service and support to any IT infrastructure is a critical component of the success of such implementations. Since it is early days for the usage of IT in education in India on a mass scale, it is important to ensure that such innovative IT solutions function at their optimum level always."
HCL Learning, the education and learning division of HCL Infosystems Ltd, will also source Educomp’s smartclass Digital Teaching Systems boards for its own IT solutions for educational institutions. Educomp Smartclass today reaches close to 15,000 schools and seven million students, the statement added.
HCLI’s Lifecycle Services is backed by 720 support touch points, 10,000 service engineers, a reach in more than 5,000 towns and Remote Infrastructure Management (RIM) centres across the nation which will strengthen Educomp’s service and support operations, according to the statement.
