India’ largest digital education company Educomp Solutions will now work with the Centre of Excellence for Applied Research and Training (CERT) at Abu Dhabi to help build a strong workforce and help enhance organisational efficiency in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region.

As part of the Memorandum of Understanding signed by Educomp and CERT, the latter will use Educomp’s digital education initiatives to introduce innovative technologies in the GCC region, comprising the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar and Kuwait.

A release from Educomp said, “The GCC has identified the education sector as a focus area in the immediate future and a growing share of Government spending is being channelled towards building new schools, colleges and universities. Apart from basic tertiary education, GCC countries are also keen to enhance vocational and special education programmes to encourage higher education among their nationals.”

CERT and Educomp will offer vocational training to meet the growing needs of the region.

Shantanu Prakash, Chairman and Managing Director, Educomp Solutions, said, “The collaboration with CERT is an extension of our long-term strategy to expand internationally. This MoU signals a breakthrough in our strategy for the West Asia and promises exponential growth on the back of the GCC’s heightened emphasis on enhancing education infrastructure in the Gulf region.”

Prakash added that Educomp aims at increasing its growth by three times in international markets over the next couple of years.

Tayeb Kamali, Group Chief Executive of CERT, said, “The agreement with Educomp would help to produce the next generation of highly skilled and qualified engineering experts who will play an important role in the UAE’s economy.”
