Multimedia and entertainment solutions company Digiquest and Andhra Pradesh Government have joined hands to announce the first edition of Indian Creative Technology Awards (ICTA).

About 100 awards will be given to companies in information technology (IT), IT-enabled services, animation, gaming, mobility and special effects.

Blueswan, a Mumbai-based media and entertainment company with experience in organising large events, joined Digiquest to host the two-day event in December first week.

“We are coming up with a gaming and animation city at Rayadurgam.

“We came up with a dedicated policy to build an ecosystem for the gaming, animation and special effects industry.

“These awards will go a long way in turning Hyderabad into a global destination for the industry,” Andhra Pradesh IT and Communciations Minister Ponnala Lakshmaiah, said.

The Minister launched the ICTA Web site, calling for entries for awards. The last date for sending entries is October 30.

“The Nasscom has estimated that the animation, gaming and special effects industry requires about five lakh skilled work force.

We need to develop ecosystem to attract talent to the industry,” K. Basi Reddy, President of the newly-formed Animation and Gaming industry, President - Animation, VFX, Comic and Gaming Industry of Andhra Pradesh (AVCGI), said.
