Ericsson appoints new South-East Asia head

Telecom technology provider Ericsson on Monday said Nunzio Mirtillo has been appointed as Head of Market Area South East Asia, Oceania and India.

Nunzio will have responsibility for Ericsson’s business across markets, including India, Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Myanmar, the Philippines and Bangladesh, the company said in a statement.

This announcement is part of Ericsson’s reorganisation from 10-regions to five-market areas and four-business units to three-business areas, aiming to speed up time-to-market and customer responsiveness, it said.

Nunzio has 29-year career with Ericsson, including roles in solutions development, sales, marketing and delivery. Most recently, he has been Head of Region Mediterranean, responsible for Ericsson’s business and operations across 25 countries.

“Ericsson’s strengthened portfolio focus and simplified organiaational structure will enable us to better partner with our customers, to help them succeed in tough market situations and capitalise on new growth opportunities within ICT,” he said.
