Vinod Vasudevan, Group Chief Executive of big data analytics provider Flytxt, has received the Leadership Excellence in Telecom Business Award at the Asia Leadership Awards event in Dubai.
The Asia Leadership Awards distinguish and honour leaders "who have contributed and shaped the Asian economy, and are visionaries behind today’s outstanding businesses''.
In his acceptance speech, Vasudevan said that Flytxt constantly challenged itself to create measurable value to its telecom customers through monetisation of insights from their data using advance analytics technology and services.
Vasudevan was feted for his visionary leadership in overseeing Flytxt’s sustained and impressive growth through the last six years.
Under him, the company has emerged as the most preferred big data analytics solution provider for telecom companies in Asia and Africa.
The company serves more than 50 telecom companies across 32 countries, generating more than $100 million in incremental revenue for customers in 2013, Vasudevan said.
It sees increasing demand from other geographies as well for analytics solutions which have been tested in some of the most challenging telecom markets of the world.
“Recognitions such as this will encourage us to rise to the occasion and take up new and bigger challenges in our next phase of growth.”
Vasudevan has spent over 20 years in the global telecommunications industry and has served operators such as NTT, SingTel, Orange and Reliance Communications before taking charge of Flytxt in 2008.
An alumnus of Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, he has several patents and recognitions to his credit.
