Flytxt, a provider of global mobile advertising solutions, has won the 2011 IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) Cloud Computing Challenge (C3) held in Athens, Greece.

The company, which has a development centre in Technopark, was feted for its innovation in mobile subscriber fingerprinting using ‘big data analytics.'

‘Big data' are datasets that grow so large that they become awkward to work with using on-hand database management tools.

The award was declared under the data-intensive analytics application category, a spokesperson for the company said here on Thursday.

The C3 event by IEEE, the world's largest professional association dedicated to advancing technological innovation and excellence, aims to stimulate the development of new practical tools and applications in cloud computing.

The event was held as part of 3rd IEEE International Conference on Cloud Computing Technology and Science (CloudCom 2011).

The IEEE events, steered by the Cloud Computing Association, aim to bring together researchers who work on cloud computing and related technologies.

“We are extremely happy to be honoured with this prestigious award,” said Mr Prateek Kapadia, Chief Technology Officer, Flytxt.

It reinforces the company's commitment to excellence and innovation, he added.

Flytxt provides innovative mobile advertising solutions for brands, operators and advertisers by offering high-impact and interactive campaigns.

The company's mission is to transform the mobile advertising industry by providing path breaking solutions, the spokesperson said.

These solutions are designed to engage mobile subscribers in highly relevant brand communication providing rich brand experiences and high value to subscriber.
