Logistics and transportation solutions provider Four Soft has unveiled a new web-based shipment planning and freight optimisation product.
The product is aimed at enabling users across geographic locations to locate the least cost route and meet delivery timelines.
Shipment planning is generally done on parameters such as trade lanes, modes of transportation, commodities, transit duration and service levels.
"The product manages multi-modal route and rate planning for air and sea transportation, besides first simulating estimated savings and then executing them with real-time information," the company said.
It also suggests cost-effective carrier selections, while taking into account the customer’s specific routing requirements and delivery times. "We are currently in discussions with several customers across geographies for this product," Rakesh Kumar, Sr Vice President of the company, said.
