Mobile value-added services player FlyTxt has been included in Gartner’s “Cool Vendors in Emerging Markets, 2013” list.

‘Cool vendors’ are those which have captured Gartner's interest during the past year because they offered innovative or intriguing technologies or solutions.

In this research, Gartner seeks to highlight vendors which have made an impact in emerging markets.

FlyTxt has a development centre here and operates out of Technopark. It is a Big Data technology player helping mobile operators to derive ‘economic value’ from subscriber data.

Economic value represents value being created in excess of the required return from such data.

FlyTxt solutions aim to enhance revenue, increase customer loyalty and generate new revenue streams from mobile marketing and advertising.

Vinod Vasudevan, chief executive, FlyTxt, said that the company sought to generate economic value of more than 10 per cent from operator data by using its Big Data analytics capabilities.

Abhay Doshi, Vice-President, products and marketing, said that FlyTxt prided itself in having orchestrated successful campaigns for increasing average revenue per user.

He hoped that these would stand his company in good stead while looking for opportunities in other emerging and developed markets.

Flytxt has already deployed its platforms with many leading and progressive mobile operators in Asia and Africa serving more than 400 million subscribers.

It claims to have generated more than $250 million as incremental revenue for operators until now.

The company recently announced the launch of ‘first of its kind’ operator-anchored mobile ad market place in Bangladesh.
