Mobile handset maker Gionee will invest $50 million in the next three years on manufacturing in India. It tied up with Foxconn and Dixon to manufacture its phones in India. It would manufacture phones at Dixon Technologies facility in Delhi and Foxconn facility in Andhra Pradesh. “Foxconn will start this association by manufacturing F Series and P Series phones, while Dixon will be making feature phones and other smartphones for us,” Arvind R Vohra, Country CEO and MD of Gionee India, said. Production will begin in October with a capacity of about 1.2 million units a month.
