With only 20 per cent of the 51 million small and medium businesses (SMBs) in the country going online so far, GoDaddy, a cloud platform services for SMBs, feels there is a huge scope for market expansion as penetration of internet and smartphones is going up significantly.
With over 7.50 lakh customers in the country, GoDaddy has 700 employees located in Hyderabad to guide the clients. With 71 million domains under management globally, the firm has 5,000 employees, including 3,700 customer care professionals. Globally, it has 17 million customers, of which 40 per cent are outside the US.
Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, Andrew Low Ah Kee, Executive Vice-President, GoDaddy, said the firm helps SMBs go online with purpose-building products. “We started our operations in Hyderabad with 40 people and have grown to 700 in the last five years,” he said.
Nikhil Arora, VP and MD, GoDaddy India, said the company offeres its domain services in four languages in India, covering nearly 60 per cent of the country.
