Google announced a new mobile App called ‘Google My Business’ to help Indian small medium businesses be discovered online.

The new product designed to work across both desktop and mobile devices and aims to help small medium businesses to create and update their business info on Google Search, Maps and Google+, according to company officials.

This will be offered free and is available in both Hindi and English. Google My Business aims to make it easier for businesses to create their online presence even when they don't have a website and manage their catalogue or other information from their smartphones, making it easier for customers to get in touch with local businesses when they search for them online, Google officials said.

According to latest research conducted by Zinnov on behalf of Google, India has over 48 million small medium businesses. "But out of the 48 million SMBs in India only 5 to 6 per cent businesses have a website due to lack of awareness on Internet usage and technology know-how," said Suryanarayana Kodukulla, Head of SMB sales, Google India.
