The photo at Samsung's Web site rumoured to be of Nexus Prime.

It’s official. Google and Samsung will unveil the next 'Google experience' phone Nexus Prime (or is it Galaxy Nexus) and the next version of the Android operating system - Ice Cream Sandwich or Android 4 - on October 19.

The new Nexus to be launched at the event to be held at 9.30 a.m, Hong Kong time, will come pre-installed with Ice Cream Sandwich.

According to rumours, the Nexus Prime will have dual-core 1.5GHz processor, 8-megapixel camera, support for 4G LTE networks and come with a curved glass display.

Samsung recently posted a photo, rumoured to be of Nexus Prime, and a video in its site. The video was soon removed, but the photo remained.

Though Nexus S, the present version of the Google experience phone, is likely to get Android 4 immediately, it may not be available for quite some time for other Android phones.

Samsung and Google were supposed to release the Nexus Prime last week, but delayed the introduction because of the death of Apple Inc. co-founder Steve Jobs.
