Few months ago at Search On 2022 event powered by Google, the company said that Google Search would make it “easier to explore a subject by highlighting the most relevant and helpful information”, and that Knowledge Panel will be getting a redesign.

Google Search Knowledge Panel highlights will take the form of cards arranged in a grid layout. The information pulled up on the panel depends on the topic, though a carousel of images is consistently the first thing that appears.

For instance, if one looks up for a specific city details on Google Search, information about “Weather averages”, time duration to “Get there” from your current location, a map, and description.

There is still a huge difference between the web and the mobile version of the redesign. On mobile, we can see the redesign for places and foods.

On the mobile version, we can see the change for people.

Apart from the highlights like age, spouse, children, and social media accounts, there is a large grid showing images related to the topic searched. The sidebar is still used for About information and other description.
