Internet giant Google may have underestimated demand for its flagship Nexus 5 phone as it ran out of stock within hours of listing for sale in India.
Shortly after the devices went on sale, the Google Play store displays the message: “We are out of stock. Please check back soon.”
The sales number could not be ascertained.
Nexus 5 is the first device powered by the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system. The 16GB model of Nexus 5 would be available for Rs 28,999, while the 32GB model would cost Rs 32,999, according to information on Google Playstore.
Powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 2.26 GHz processor, the handset has a 4.95-inch screen, 8MP rear camera, 1.3 MP front camera, wireless charging and supports 4G/LTE.
Nexus 7, the seven-inch tablet from Google, will start shipping from November 26, 2013 and will be priced at Rs 20,999 (16GB) and Rs 23,999 (32GB) for the WiFi version.
The 32GB LTE variant will cost Rs 27,999.
With a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor and 2GB RAM, Nexus 7 features a 1.2MP front facing and 5MP rear facing camera.
