eCommerce firm Groupon India will sell onions at Rs 9 a kg, at a time when retail prices have touched Rs 60 a kg.
Groupon expects more than 20,000 people to make use of this promotional offer.
The onions will be sourced fresh through merchants each day, with the e-retailer putting up 3,000 kg of the perishable on sale every day for seven days.
The company has tied up with a large onion distributor in Delhi. The deal will be available to Groupon users across 78 cities in India.
