HCL Infosystems has bagged a contract from Chhattisgarh Infotech & Biotech Promotion Society (CHiPS) for supply of laptops to final year engineering and medical students in the State. The size of the deal was not disclosed. This is part of a project by the Chhattisgarh Government.
CHiPS is the nodal agency for procurement of laptops for the project on behalf of the State Government and executing the project in coordination with the Directorate of Technical Education. This is the first phase of the project, where HCL Infosystems is supplying 14,000 laptops.
The laptops will be given free to the students in different districts comprising 51 colleges across the State.
