HCL Tech to manage AstraZeneca's data centre services

Indian IT services company HCL Technologies has bagged an infrastructure outsourcing contract from global biopharmaceutical firm AstraZeneca. HCL did not disclose the size of the deal.

As part of the five-year contract, HCL will be responsible for managing AstraZeneca's entire data centre environment across over 60 locations globally, including hosting and migration of some of the existing large data centres into modern facilities. In addition, HCL will manage AstraZeneca's global collaboration environment including email and messaging services for users worldwide.

HCL will also deliver projects including server virtualisation, storage and backup transformation and implementation of the hybrid cloud, according to a company statement.
