HCL Technologies is planning to set up an in-house training facility in Nagpur, with initial capacity to train 5000 freshers.
“Our current training facilities are on a smaller scale and located along with our development centres. We are planning our first separate training facilities now in Nagpur and Manesar,” Mr Anil Chanana, CFO of HCL Technologies, told Business Line . He said that the capacity in Manesar training centre, currently under construction, will be close to 1000.
Indian IT companies such as Infosys and TCS, which recruit thousands of freshers every year and put them through rigorous training cycles, have been investing in modern training campuses in the country. HCL Tech has already acquired land in Nagpur, Mr Chanana said, adding that the company is also planning a development centre with 8,000 seats, in the city . “It is a three-year project,” he added.
Capex plan
Meanwhile, the company has chalked out a capital expenditure of $230 million for FY12, which will be pumped into expansion in locations such as Noida and Chennai. “Over 50 per cent of the capex will be towards expansion of our campuses,” he added.
