HCL Tech wins global contract from Novartis

India’s fourth largest IT services firm HCL Technologies today said it has won a global contract from pharmaceuticals major Novartis to provide infrastructure management services.

Under the deal, HCL will provide remote infrastructure management services to the Switzerland-based pharma company across its entire data centre landscape, covering more than 70 countries across six continents.

“The deal marks an important infrastructure outsourcing contract in HCL’s DACH region (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) and strengthens the company’s global expertise in infrastructure management within the pharmaceutical sector,” HCL Technologies said in a statement.

HCL is now managing the infrastructure environment of four of the top seven pharmaceutical companies worldwide, it added.

“Our outcome-based business models, best practices and tools deliver proven value and cost savings that help our clients to be more competitive and responsive to changing market dynamics,” HCL Technologies Executive VP and Head of Infrastructure Services (EMEA) Ashish Gupta said.

Shares of HCL Technologies closed at nearly 3.12 per cent higher at ₹1433.05 apiece on the BSE.
