Hewlett Packard (HP) India on Tuesday launched Hotspot LaserJet Pro multi-function printer, an all-in-one with in-built wireless Internet, priced at Rs 18,306.
Besides print, copy, scan and fax capabilities, the new printer will come with latest mobile printing technologies including HP wireless direct, HP ePrint and Apple AirPrint.
The company said it is targeting customers in the small office/home office (SOHO) or a small business (SMB) set-up through this new printer.
“We are confident that users will appreciate the ability to print, scan, fax and access Internet wirelessly, all through a single device that is easy to set up and use,” Nitin Hiranandani, Director-Printing, HP India, said.
He said the ‘plug and print’ functionality automatically installs printer within minutes, without the need for a CD installation.
Hiranandani said the service industry and SMB at large are driving the laser printer market and it is growing at around 30 per cent year-on-year, as per independent research firm IDC.
According to IDC, HP continued to be the market leader in the overall printer market with a market share of 45.7 per cent in the second quarter of this year, followed by Canon and Epson at second and third positions with a market share of 19.5 per cent and 11.4 per cent, respectively.
Hard copy peripherals (printers) stood at 8,02,063 units during the second quarter, recording a year-on-year growth of 9.2 per cent, the IDC said.
