Hewlett-Packard has launched a centre of excellence in Chennai to support clients globally.
The centre is for SAP HANA, which is a platform from the German company SAP used for real time analytics. This centre will be the hub in Asia-Pacific and Japan for HANA, said an official of HP.
The HANA-based services help companies gain insights from ever increasing volume of data from sources like social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter.
The platform helps in converting the data to information, which a company’s CEO can use for insights, said Amit K. Chakravarti – Head of SAP Strategic Services, Enterprise Services, HP Asia Pacific and Japan.
For every second there are 98,000 tweets; 29,148 applications downloaded and 400,710 ads requests, he told newspersons giving a perspective on the amount of data that is available. HP and SAP have been partners for over two decades, he said.
