Huawei Technologies India, the overseas R&D centre of Huawei, launched a wellness centre for its employees in Bengaluru. Called iHealth, the wellness centre aims to promote employee well-being and provide immediate healthcare facilities for its employees around the world.
Huawei Technologies India has tied-up with Columbia Asia Hospital to run the wellness centre, which is staffed by a doctor and nurse, and will provide consultation, first-aid treatment, and medical emergency management to Huawei’s employees, company officials said.
Apart from providing medical treatment, the wellness centre will also run health-related campaigns such as ergonomics, health check-ups, cardiac care, and diabetes care periodically, officials added. William Zhao, CEO of Huawei Technologies India said: “We have invested in good fitness and sports facilities, and encourage our staff to regularly engage in sports activities. Employees participate in various tournaments, art and cultural programmes, and have set up clubs for photography, running, dance and music, which help in keeping the body and mind healthy and rejuvenated”.
The iHealth Center was first launched in the Beijing Research Center in 2016, and has been set up in most of the R&D centres of Huawei, serving 80,000 employees currently.
