Ms Virginia M. Ginni Rometty, President and CEO of IBM, has reiterated the company’s strong commitment to its 1.2 lakh global business partners of continued support and taking their help in future growth. Business partners are IBM’s primary route to market in the small and medium-size segment.

“Our commitment to business partners will not change. It will grow stronger as you are [contributing] 20 per cent of IBM's revenue. We will continue to give you high value suite to be easier to business, integrate our offering. We will continue to take you with us into the future,” she told at the IBM PartnerWorld Leadership Conference here.

Ms Rometty, who took over as IBM’s CEO on January 1, emphasised on the need to enhance the business partners' skills on IBM’s products and solutions.

“We will continue to shift to higher value. We have spent a decade — both of us — moving IBM to higher value space, whether that was the 130 acquisitions in the last ten years or building the services business, it was all about moving in to future,” she told an audience of over 1,500 business partners from across the globe.

“We are staying with the growth plan. This is important as you build the skills, you invest money and it is of no good if we move our objectives back and forth. You can count on us in areas like cloud computing, business analytic, smarter planet and growth markets,” she said.

“There is a new era of computing and new kinds of clients are going to emerge for both of us. Both these and important going forward,” she said.
