IBS Software, based in Technopark here, has won the global ‘IT Provider of the Year 2016’ for the air cargo industry. This is the fifth successive year that the firm has bagged the award.
A panel of experts chose IBS from among a shortlist of leading technology providers to the global aviation industry, a company spokesman said. The event was organised by the Singapore-based trade journal Payload Asia.
Radhesh Menon, General Manager, Business Systems, IBS, received the award from Sunny Ho, Executive Director, Hong Kong Shipper’s Council, at a function in Hong Kong.
Other winners include Emirates SkyCargo (Overall Carrier of the Year), Singapore Airlines Cargo (Combination Carrier of the Year), Ethiopian Airlines (Rising Star Carrier of the Year) and Air Asia Cargo (Low Cost Carrier of the Year).
Fully integrated platformEvery year, Payload Asia honours “airlines, airports and organisations that have risen above the challenges through market adeptness, innovative products or superior strategy to excel.” In collaboration with leading airlines, IBS Software has developed iCargo, a cargo management solution that supports the IT needs of air cargo management in a single, fully integrated platform.
IBS also offers IT systems for airline passenger services, flight and crew operations, airport operations and aircraft maintenance engineering.
No other single enterprise in the world offers this range of IT products to the aviation industry, the spokesman claimed.
